A Bit About Me
As a daughter of an artist I was always surrounded by art and became fascinated in the stories which lay behind them. Studying art history at A level, degree and then as a postgraduate I was interested in the social history and context as much as the images themselves. Passionate about contemporary art in all its forms I was drawn to photography and moving image work at an early point. I was keen to be a contemporary art curator and to work for publicly funded art galleries. Eventually I got there and worked as a curator at Tate Liverpool and then for ten years at The Photographers Gallery London.

I always wrote on artists work and developed ongoing relationships with a generation of artists around me. When I had children I was looking for more work life balance and moved away from curating full time and into academia. Lecturing and teaching at Degree and Postgraduate level I now run an Masters in Photography at Middlesex University and input on professional development for our undergraduate students. I continue to regularly publish and curate and commission work for shows and books.
